The Republic of Moldova will install a 75 MW energy storage system (BESS) and 22 MW internal combustion engines as part of a project funded by the U.S. Government through USAID. The Ministry of Energy has announced that a tender has been launched for this purpose.

The storage systems will be installed at CET Nord in Bălți, significantly contributing to the stability of the power grid and the integration of renewable energy sources.
[pdf] The Bisha BESS, owned by Saudi Electric Company , comprises 122 prefabricated storage units designed and supplied by China’s BYD. Each unit integrates a 6 MW power conversion system with four lithium iron phosphate battery modules, each boasting a capacity of 5.365 MWh.
