The Republic of Moldova will install a 75 MW energy storage system (BESS) and 22 MW internal combustion engines as part of a project funded by the U.S. Government through USAID. The Ministry of Energy has announced that a tender has been launched for this purpose.
[pdf] The BESS project will have an installed capacity of around 30 MWh, which will be installed at ENGIE Energía Perú’s ChilcaUno Thermoelectric Power Plant, and will allow the plant to operate at full capacity, which translates into more efficient energy for the country, as well as contributing to improve the stability of the national power grid.
[pdf] The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has set March 18, 2025, as the deadline for bids on its ambitious plan to construct three large-scale battery storage facilities with a combined capacity of 1,800MW.
