Morocco is accelerating its energy transition by issuing a global call for expressions of interest to build two large-scale battery storage facilities. The projects are spearheaded by the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) and Morocco’s national electricity company ONEE.
[pdf] To address this, Morocco is resolutely focusing on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, a reliable, durable technology suited to local constraints. This choice is part of a national strategy for equipping, testing, and industrializing energy storage.
[pdf] Barbados is now leading the way in battery storage systems regionally, and will be a hub for the rest of the Caribbean. That’s according to Minister of Energy and Business Development Senator Lisa Cummins. She made the disclosure as she led off Debate on the 2025 Appropriation Bill.
