MUSCAT: A new solar PV based Independent Power Project (IPP), set to come up at Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate, is expected to be integrated with utility-scale battery storage in a first for Oman’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector.
[pdf] The Wadi Dayqah Dam project will focus on water purification and energy storage. Studies are being conducted on geothermal energy, and a project is being developed to convert waste into biofuel for cement production. In addition to large-scale projects, smaller renewable energy efforts are underway.
