Belgian clean power developer Energy Solutions Group (ESG) has announced it has completed the project finance for the 75 MW/300 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) it is constructing in the southern Belgian region of Wallonia.
[pdf] Three newly commissioned battery systems on Rarotonga which cost US$16 million (approx. NZ$24m) will reduce the island’s dependence on oil-fuelled power generation and continue the shift to solar power.
[pdf] The Wadi Dayqah Dam project will focus on water purification and energy storage. Studies are being conducted on geothermal energy, and a project is being developed to convert waste into biofuel for cement production. In addition to large-scale projects, smaller renewable energy efforts are underway.
